You may not expect to find some of Australia's most lush forests and best wineries in Western Australia, but take a wander through the southwest region and you'll soon be pleasantly surprised.

The Dwellingup forest and the Margaret River wine region are just two of your options when you stay at the River Resort, on the tranquil Murray lakes, and very close to the beach, all just an hour south of Perth. With so much water around you there's plenty of hot weather options, including river cruises, sailing, and some of the best crabbing spots in the world.

The villas at the River Resort are more like three bedroom homes - they even have their own timber decking area and barbecue, perfect for enjoying sunsets overlooking the river. Of course each villa has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and a large fridge. Up to eight people can be accommodated in comfort. All you need bring is yourself and a willingness to relax!
