LAKE EDGE RESORT

Lake Edge Resort certainly lives up to its name, perched right on the banks of the eerily beautiful Lake Mulwala. Yarrawonga - Mulwala, on the New South Wales/Victoria border just three hours from Melbourne, is the state's best-loved freshwater paradise. When the Murray River was dammed in the 1930's to build a weir it created an 11,000-acre body of water, dotted with thousands of ghostly gum trees that form a haunting image at sunset. Since then the lake has been a mecca for water sports enthusiasts, with more hours of sunshine than the Gold Coast. Try your hand at water skiing, canoeing, paddleboats, or take the easy option with a smorgasbord dinner cruise.

The units at Lake Edge all have a spa, microwave and dishwasher, colour TV's and air-conditioning. They accommodate up to six people. Of course there's all the outdoor facilities you'd expect from a timeshare - swimming pool, sauna and spa, tennis, games room and adult lounge. The resort is directly adjacent to the Mulwala Water Ski Club, meaning you don't have far to walk for a great pizza at the famous La Porchetta restaurant, or a night out watching a band, playing the pokies, or seeing the water ski show in summer.
